Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co., Ltd. (ZGH), commonly known as Geely Holding or simply Geely (/ˈdʒiːli/ JEE-lee; Chinese: 吉利; pinyin: Jílì; lit. 'auspicious'), is a Chinese multinational automotive company headquartered in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. The company is privately owned by Chinese entrepreneur Li Shufu. It was founded in 1986 and entered the automotive industry in 1997 with its subsidiary Geely Auto. The company manufactures and sells vehicles under the names of Geely, Lynk & Co and Zeekr, which are part of the Geely Automobile Group, along with its subsidiaries and joint ventures, such as Volvo Cars, Polestar, Proton, Smart and Lotus, as well as commercial vehicles under the London EV Company, Radar Auto and Farizon brands.
